No blooms on the sunflowers as of July 29. But they are getting ready to burst open.
Just ten days after this the corn looks really great. We've had ten days of sunny weather. Pole beans are wrapping around the corn stalks and in some cases leaping from stalk to stalk. Today I finished wrapping this bed with bird netting to see if I can discourage the stinking raccoons.
Salad cukes. Some Armenians and pearl. We've now eaten and few and they are tasty. Next week we will be overrun with cukes.
Tomatoes and tomatillos. Ten days later there is lots of fruiting. May actually end up with a tomato or two. Looks like the tomatillos will be big.
This is my Oregon Homestead squash which I am hand pollinating following Carol Deppe's instructions from the Resilient Gardener. We might get three squash off this plant but I am mainly interested in seed for next year.
Dry beans. Don't quite know what to do with them. Need to do a bit of research on when to harvest.
I'm very excited to see the pictures of sunflowers in full bloom and vegetables that are big and fresh in harvest. If I ever get the chance to visit that place, I would pick and eat the sweetest corn while roaming around your garden. =)
