After reading Honor Killing I have to admit that as a society we have progressed just a little bit from the racism, prejudice and inhumanity that pervaded our culture before the sixties made vigilantism and discrimination unacceptable and illegal. Hawaii today seems the showplace for the multiracial society. But it wasn’t that long ago that the famous Massie Affair unlocked the Pandora’s box and let the Hawaiians and the world see the dirty secrets of white supremacy in a paradisiacal setting. This is a book with just about everything and will be most fascinating to anyone who loves Hawaii. Did the lust crazed locals rape young, white Thalia Massie? Was her husband insane when he murdered one of the alleged perpetrators? Can the legendary Clarence Darrow get him off? Can someone really get away with murder? Read the review Honor Killing here.
